Perched on his stack of laundry were three thumb-sized figures. One with cotton-candy pink hair swung a miniature scythe, yawning. Another, in a froggy hoodie, was poking his abandoned soda can. The third sat cross-legged on his keyboard, reading a tiny book titled “Souls for Dummies.”
And he never, ever deleted the game.
Leo smiled. Then he went outside to feel the sun.
The next morning, the reapers were gone. But the app icon remained: three tiny figures waving from inside his home screen.
“That’s not better!” Leo squeaked.
