Clay Morrow, still recovering from his own wounds, tries to exploit the situation. He sees an opportunity to undermine Jax by suggesting that Tig’s mistake shows Jax’s leadership is failing. Tig is emotionally shattered after accidentally killing Pope’s innocent daughter in a botched hit meant for Laroy (from season 4). Pope doesn’t want Tig dead immediately—he wants him to suffer.
