A black screen. A modem dials. A text-to-speech voice, flat and ancient: “KeyGenguru Serial, Episode 08: The Floppy Disk of God. Continue? (Y/N)” The cursor blinks.

Not as a player. As a sprite. A 16-bit avatar of himself, standing in Jun’s office—the night of the murder. JUN’S VOICE (narrating via text scroll): “You’re in the save state of my death. Every action here changes the past’s data. But be careful—the killer is also a ghost in the machine. He’s been watching you play the first five keys.” The office door creaks. The shadow returns. But now it’s pixelated. And it speaks with Silas Vane’s voice, filtered through a voice chip. SILAS (pixel sprite, grinning too wide): “You thought the KeyGenguru was a tool? No, Kai. It’s a serialized trap. Every key you turned, you loaded another piece of me into your RAM. And now… I have all six keys.” Kai looks down. His real hand, in the real world, is typing on its own.
