DreamWorks outdid themselves. The opening dragon race sequence is a masterclass in camera movement – swooping, breathless, and vertically dynamic. But the real standout is the scene where Hiccup and Valka fly through the hidden dragon sanctuary. The use of light, scale, and silence (underscored by Jónsi’s ethereal vocals) is straight out of Avatar or Princess Mononoke . It’s visual poetry.
