The movie begins with Jagga (played by Ranbir Kapoor) living with his mother, Bela (played by Sarika), in Darjeeling. Jagga is a self-proclaimed detective who dreams of solving the ultimate mystery. When his mother goes missing, Jagga sets out to find her, only to discover that she has been kidnapped.
