This is a guide for obtaining and playing the (often referred to as the "CS:GO Beta" or "CS:GO Classic"). This version predates the major "Arms Deal" update (which introduced weapon skins) and features the original UI, old weapon sounds, classic knife animations, and the original map lighting.

Only use Method 2 if you need the March 2013 look/sound. Legal note: Downloading cracked versions from random websites is dangerous (malware). The Steam beta method is 100% legal and safe. The depot method without an emulator won't run, and emulators exist in a legal gray area, but as long as you own CS:GO, it's generally considered acceptable for preservation.
